  • Gathered in Prayer

Our St. John prayer group, known as “Gathered in Prayer”, is now a year old. Our goal is two-fold: to pray as a group, for the needs of others throughout the world, the community, and in our church family, personal families and friends, as well as to hold inspirational devotional studies and discussions to enrich our personal prayer lives.

    “Gathered in Prayer” Prayer Group

Our goal is two-fold: to pray as a group, for the needs of others throughout the world, the community, and in our church family, personal families and friends, as well as to hold inspirational devotional studies and discussions to enrich our personal prayer lives.

Half of our meeting is devoted to prayer, using various methods to heighten our motivation, and using a basic format of progression through the prayers. We are a lively, casual and open-minded group. Our enlightening discussions often include the sharing of perceptions by our members. We use books and other reference resources as guides for these discussions. As a result of our efforts, we are growing personally and experiencing the true impact of the power of prayer through the positive feedback received from those for whom we pray. We are currently reading a book together, Grace of God by Tony Evans.

We generally meet every two weeks in the church’s Gathering Room, on Tuesday mornings at 10:00, for about an hour. However, we like to accommodate our members whenever we can, and therefore, we sometimes change our schedule. We plan as we go, and announce our meetings in the Sunday bulletins.

If you wish to augment your personal prayer life and make new friendships, and help others in need, we welcome you to come and pray with us.
