Contemporary Worship

If we had to use a single word to describe the spirit of our contemporary worship, it would be “informal.” Our contemporary service is casual, youth-oriented, and features piano and instruments (including guitars and drums). Music selections are frequently from non-Lutheran traditions, including broader American hymn selections, often using the With One Voice hymnal.

Contemporary worship services features communion practices that reflect our earliest church traditions. When it comes time to share the body and blood of Christ, we go up to the altar and receive communion from a common cup.

Sometimes we experiment with the early service format. For example, last Christmas Eve, we enjoyed a service of lessons and carols as a joyful way to celebrate our Savior’s birth. Sometime we innovate, using audio / visual equipment to provide a “heads up worship” experience.

After Worship, we enjoy gathering for a cup of coffee and fellowship!
